Ch'Art Design

How a Ch'Art work comes to life

A method, not a catalog of ready-made images: every space receives a work that exists nowhere else.

Site visit and listening: where a Ch'Art commission starts

1. Listening

It all starts with a visit to the space: a home, an office, an entire building. In person, or, when that isn't possible, through photos and video the client sends. This is the one step no technique can replace: reading a space and a taste is an act of interpretation, built on more than 25 years of research into the aesthetics of color, starting with a thesis in Digital Art for Brera in 1999. The Ch'Art creature: a composition of color and form on its own

2. Composition

From that listening comes the Ch'Art creature: a composition of color and form designed for that exact space. Color and form create a continuous dynamic that everyone reads differently: it's the most personal part, the one that ties the artist to the client, and also the most technical one: this is where years of experimenting with color and perception come in.

Fit study: the work measured against the real space

3. Fit

The work is measured against the object, the wall, or the whole space: how much room it takes, where it stops, how much air it leaves around it. Size and placement shape themselves to what's already there, blending it with what could be. This is the moment the work stops being an idea and starts living in a real space. It's a design phase, not improvisation: it can take more than one attempt to find the right proportion. See Ch'Emistry, a work designed to the measurements of a hall →

Professional large-format printing of a Ch'Art work

4. Realization

Any flat material can be printed, any object can be covered: printed adhesive film or wallpaper, direct printing on doors, fabric; panels that cover entire façades. This stage relies on high-level professional printers, chosen project by project based on material and scale: their technical work is what makes the piece as real as the design that precedes it.
